Santoshat Anuttama Sukha Labhaha = This is Yoga Sutra II.42 and means that from an attitude of contentment (Santosha) unexcelled happiness, mental comfort, joy and satisfaction are obtained.
Sarvesham = entire, for all
Svastir = well being, success, fortune
Bhavatu = may there be
Shantir = peace, tranquility
Purnam = fullness, contentment, satisfaction
Mangalam = auspiciousness, happiness, felicity, welfare
The Intention of the Chant
We contemplate and dwell on principles of blessing for ourselves and all beings, and cultivate a state of appreciation and contentment within ourselves.
