Om Govinda Govinda
Om
Govinda Govinda Govinda Govinda
Gopala
Om = The primordial sound of life. Past, present, future; that which we are, and that of which we are all a part.
Govinda = A name of Krishna – finder of lost cows (also souls)
Gopala = A name of Krishna – keeper or protector of cows (also souls)
The focus of this chant is to experience a state of appreciation for protection and preservation, which are the primary energies of Govinda and Gopala. When practicing meditation and kirtan, it is not always necessary to focus on the specific meanings of words. Letting go of the need to concentrate on the words allows us to shift into a state of meditation and relaxation, and experience the bliss of being in the moment.
