Om = The primordial sound of life. Past, present, future; that which we are, and that of which we are all a part.
Hari Om = A phrase honoring the highest principle of divine creative force, regardless of religion or lack of religion.
Om Nama Shivaya = While Shiva is the Hindu God of Destruction, this phrase is also used to honor the teacher within. An aspect of the destructive force is to remove that which hinders us from knowing the truth.
Shivaya Namaha Shivaya Nama Om = We honor the divine force which reveals the truth
Om Nama Shivaya Gurave = We salute the teacher within
Satchitananda Murtaye = Whose form is truth, consciousness and bliss
Nishprapanchaya Shantaya = Who is without deceit, tranquil
Niralambaya Tejase = Independent and illuminating
This a fusion of two chants. Blending the traditional chant of Hari Om with
Om Nama Shivaya represents an honoring of the divine creative force, and an acknowledgement of the teacher within. It is a meditation on opening our hearts and minds to higher wisdom and understanding, and a celebration of the creative force which flows through us.
